Empty Nest originally started as a failed backdoor pilot on The Golden Girls & would get revamped to focus on the girl’s Widowed Doctor neighbor Harry Weston & his two daughters who move back home after their mom dies. The show lasted for 7 seasons & in the final 2 seasons would add Sophia as a main character after Golden Palace ended.
