Claire Petersen is a partner in Dentons Recovery and Restructuring team in Brisbane.

Claire specializes in corporate restructuring advice, including directors’ duties and safe harbour, lender advice, insolvency and personal property securities advice and enforcement.

Technically astute across the Corporations Act, Personal Property Securities Act, Code of Banking Practice and Court procedures, Claire regularly advises banks, major and private lenders, directors and company officers and restructuring and insolvency advisors. Her experience extends to all aspects of banking enforcement and strategy, recovery proceedings, receivership, agency and responses to customer and guarantor claims. Claire also advises administrators and liquidators on the conduct of formal appointments including trade-ons, recapitalisation and liquidator recoveries.

Claire is also an experienced commercial litigator and strategic advisor, with previous matters spanning commercial contract disputes (both under dispute resolution mechanisms and once litigious), construction, managed investment schemes and shareholder disputes.

Claire is a personable, intuitive practitioner who understands the importance of respectful stakeholder engagement, audience messaging and the regulatory, policy environment.
