Listen "Truth Worth Living – S3E11 – The Beatitudes 10.22.24"
Episode Synopsis
Welcome back to Truth Worth Living, where we seek to understand God’s word so we can live in God’s will. 🌿
In today’s world, many focus on personal peace, and we see a rise in identity politics, with everyone demanding tolerance for their views. Yet, as followers of Jesus, it often feels like we’re the exception to that rule. But should we be surprised?
Jesus told us, “In this world, you will have trouble.” (John 16:33) In the 8th Beatitude, He blessed those who are persecuted for His sake:
Matthew 5:10 "Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven."
💡 Here are three things to consider:
1️⃣ Not all suffering means we’ve done something wrong. Sometimes, we suffer for doing what’s right. 2️⃣ We shouldn’t pursue persecution. It’s our context, not our complex. When it happens, it happens. 3️⃣ The blessing comes when we’re persecuted for righteousness’ sake—living like Jesus: turning the other cheek, loving our enemies, and humbling ourselves for God’s glory.
When we live like Christ and face opposition, the kingdom of heaven is ours, and that’s a truth worth living!
