Episode Synopsis

Should you charge an early check-in fee for your short-term rental?

It's a question that many hosts struggle with, but I've got a fresh perspective that might just change your mind!

In this video, I'm sharing why my team and I decided against charging early check-in fees, and how this simple change has led to happier guests and smoother turnovers.

By offering free early check-in, we've found that guests are more likely to follow our detailed checkout instructions, which include starting a load of towels, taking out the trash, and tidying up the kitchen. This helps our cleaning crew turn the property around faster, allowing us to offer free early check-ins and late checkouts more often. 🧹

At the end of the day, our guests are already paying for a lot – the nightly rate, cleaning fee, taxes, booking platform fees, you name it. If we can make their stay a little bit easier and more enjoyable by letting them check in early for free, why wouldn't we? 💰

So, my advice? Skip the early check-in fee and focus on creating a seamless, stress-free experience for your guests from start to finish. Trust me, they'll appreciate it, and your reviews will reflect that!

I'd love to hear your thoughts on this topic! Do you charge an early check-in fee, or do you have a different approach that works well for your short-term rental? Let me know in the comments!
