"_Charis_" is the same ancient Greek word for grace and favour. It actually means “to give freely” or “to bestow a gift”.We know that all spiritual gifts are grace gifts that the Trinity bestows on us as God's children, for the Body of Christ. As with many examples from the Word, God favours us with these various gifts so that we can express the nature of the Trinity to one another, and so that we can mature into the fullness of Christ to do the work of the ministry wherever we go.
