Beth and Kate interview the very real, unique, chili-extraordinaire, James Engel! James lives in Lisbon with his wife, Deanne, and their two grand-daughters. James has two grown girls of his own - Brittany and Kailee. James was born in Warren, Ohio, and brought up in Columbiana. Raised mainly by his mom, James grew up for some of his childhood years at the Upper Room! James has worked in restaurants and banks; he's been a delivery driver, a painter, a powder coaters, a bouncer and bar tender. About 5 years ago James broke his back and has spent the last few years learning how to process through pain management on a daily basis. Through all of this, James has grown deeply in empathy and patience. We're so grateful for James, his awesome life, and for the ways he loves the people around him. If you know James, you know he loves his football (go Chiefs!), his grandbabies, his family, and the constant friendship of Jesus! His love for and example of Jesus can be seen in the way he has learned to care for and be with people and how he has walked through mental struggle.
