Environmental lawyer Jane Kloeckner hosts this episode with Gina Myer in honor of Native American Heritage Month. They talk about environmental protection in Indian country and discuss the small but mighty documentary, “Bad River: A Story of Defiance.”
Directed by Mary Mazzio, the film and is about the formidable Lake Superior Ojibwe in Northern Wisconsin. The Ojibwe are in a legal battle to protect their reservation and Lake Superior from oil spills due to the 70-year-old Enbridge Oil Pipeline running through their land.
She Talk Wha? is a weekly Chautauqua, a historic movement for adult education and cultural enrichment, that focuses on local, state, national and global issues facing women in today’s political and cultural climate. We’ll discuss books, ideas, current legislation and executive actions, local and national activism and the different challenges women are dealing with in today’s society.
