The people who enter medicine are the rule followers, the ones who make people proud and happy because we over-deliver, out-perform, and exceed expectations.  As we continue our journey in medicine you realize, making others happy does not mean you will be happy.   We have to do the work of asking:  What do I want?  What am I called to do?  Am I doing it?  If not, why not? Asking these questions is uncomfortable but necessary if we are going to have the fulfilling lives we worked hard for. Dr. Lowery asked these questions and made the shift to a career he finds satisfying.  If he can do it, you can do it too.  Your shift may look different but we all are going to come to a crossroads where we can take the popular "easy" way or the difficult courageous listen-to-your-heart way.  Have a burning question?
