Suffering comfortably - is that even possible? Human logic tells us that certain things don't mix: pain and pleasure; joy and sorrow; oppression and refreshment. But Paul teaches that in the Christian life, suffering and comfort go hand-in-hand. We have already been rescued by God's grace and given the Holy Spirit, but we still live in a world where we are surrounded by sin and trouble. The presence and goodness of God can reach down to our deepest points of pain as we wait in the in-between.
