As we sit with this part of the creation story, we see vegetation being made under the only light present at the moment, the light of His presence which He revealed on day two of creation. What God is showing us here is we have all we need in Him. In the span of time between day 3 and day 4, however long it might have been, He sustained the vegetation. Likewise, God wants us to know that He will sustain us too in the waiting, the wondering, and the wandering.
