Listen "The Practice of Preparation - Week 5 - (4/6/2025)"
Episode Synopsis
In this powerful exploration of Mark 6:30-44, we're invited to reflect on the profound lessons of rest, compassion, and obedience in our spiritual lives. The familiar story of Jesus feeding the 5,000 takes on new depth as we consider how it speaks to our own struggles with weariness and limited resources. Just as the disciples faced an overwhelming crowd with seemingly insufficient provisions, we too often feel ill-equipped for the challenges before us. Yet this passage reminds us that when we bring our meager offerings to Christ in obedience, He can multiply them beyond our wildest expectations. The imagery of Jesus as our Good Shepherd, tenderly caring for His flock, encourages us to trust Him even when we feel lost or overwhelmed. As we journey through this Lenten season, let's challenge ourselves to practice radical obedience, even when we're tired or doubtful, knowing that our Lord can work miracles through our willingness to follow His lead. This sermon was first preached on April 6th, 2025 at Springfield Church of God by Pastor Jason Mitchell.
