Listen "Loyal Love (Ruth) - Week 1 - (9/7/2025)"
Episode Synopsis
As we delve into the Book of Ruth, we're reminded that even in our darkest moments, God is faithfully working behind the scenes. This powerful narrative, set in the tumultuous period of the Judges, reveals how ordinary people living with extraordinary integrity can be instruments of God's redemptive plan. The story of Naomi and Ruth challenges us to trust God even when life seems hopeless. It's a testament to God's loyal love, or 'hesed', that persists even when we can't see or feel it. Just as Naomi faced famine, loss, and bitterness, we too may encounter seasons of despair. Yet, her journey back to Bethlehem - the 'house of bread' - symbolizes a step towards restoration, even if she couldn't recognize it. This narrative encourages us to persevere in faith, knowing that God's redemption often unfolds in unexpected ways through unlikely people. This sermon was first preached September 7th, 2025 by Pastor Jason Mitchell at Springfield Church of God.
