Getting ready for the next school year by asking Summer Ready Reflective questions!  Reflective Question #1 - Who is on your team?  Hold one-on-one meetings really getting to know your people.  Know who is going to be in your circle and build out your systems keeping these people in mind.  While meeting, notate what your people want, what they need, and why they want it (what drives/motivates them). This information will help you determine how to get the best results.  During your meetings, model integrity and transparency. This not only leads by example, but it allows you to set the tone of open communication with staff, this will lead to deeper reflection and make giving feedback easier in difficult times.  The questions you ask in your meetings are critical. It shouldn’t come across like “speed dating” but rather, genuine and “building trust”. Where are you sitting in these meetings? Are you behind your principal desk while a staff member is sitting in front of you like a student would? Preparation, Personality, and Persistence are key in these meetings.  What holes do you still have on your team and how can you get those plugged fast?
