Listen "8-4-21: Wimpification of the American Sportsman."
Episode Synopsis
I would love to hear from you, just send me text and let me know what you think of the podcast.Let's talk about the wimpification of the American sportsman and how this phenomenon is evident throughout society today. It makes me crazy. In 2015 Ruben Tejada of the New York Mets turned a lazy double play and had his leg broken by the Los Angeles Dodgers’ Chase Utley. Instead of focusing on Tejada’s poor fundamentals, they just changed the rule so you can’t run into the fielder and worse yet, they called it the Chase Utley rule. Chase did what he was supposed to do properly. Tejada didn't! In football you can’t even tackle the quarterback anymore or knock a kick returner out of bounds. The war of attrition was and still should be an important part of competition. How does this wimping out in sports translate to society today? I have my opinion on today's podcast.
