Listen "7-20-22: All-Star Game memories"
Episode Synopsis
I would love to hear from you, just send me text and let me know what you think of the podcast.Yesterday was the MLB All-Star Game and the American League continued its dominance of the National League of late. It got me thinking about some of my own favorite All-Star Game memories from my career. My first year Tommy Lasorda convinced me that he wasn’t allowed to pick me to go and that he had to take me off the team at the last minute. I also got to have the joy of donning the Yankee pinstripes as an All-Star, which was really special. But the most impactful memory was what my mom told me the night before my second All-Star Game. My dad had just died and I was struggling with throwing the ball to first base. Listen to today’s short to hear her simple and timeless wisdom and more about what it felt like to become a MLB All-Star. Visit my website: saxinthemorning.com for merchandise and other links.
