Last year, Margarita Camacho, MD, Surgical Director of Cardiac Transplantation, RWJBarnabas Health, completed her 650 th career heart transplant, hitting a milestone of more transplant surgeries than 80 percent of the transplant teams in the nation. Today, she is one of only 200 women in the United States to become a board-certified thoracic surgeon, with even fewer specializing in heart transplants.
