Today, RÚV English Radio talks to a photographer who used the skies above Iceland to help heal their grief.

Solace - Skies of Iceland is a response to how Berlin-based photographer, Pako Quijada (https://www.pakoquijada.com/), felt after losing their mother in 2017. The work features 60 photographs of Icelandic skies taken during three trips to the country in 2017, 2019 and 2021.

"Taking these photographs became a sort of meditation for me and a gate into accepting the new reality of living without my mother," they say.

A Kickstarter campaign has launched today (https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/pakoquijada/solace-skies-of-iceland-a-photo-book-by-pako-quijada) to help secure funding for the works to be published as a book.

Darren spoke to Pako to hear more about how Iceland helped them heal.
