Listen "RGW Podcast ft. Lisa Poole"
Episode Synopsis
Lisa is a Mom of 2 young men, wife and soon to be grandmom. Her family is everything to her. She has had an independent therapy practice for 8 + years. Started her practice while finishing school. She worked for the “evil” health Insurance company united health care for 8 years before going to school and started her own practice. Before that she had gone to college for exercise science and worked as a personal trainer for some years while her kids were young. She is a mature aka “old” therapis, 52, so she tends to have a different opinion than some on work ethic and owning your own practice. She had her rt hip replaced 6 years ago. She understands chronic pain well because of that. She discovered Robert on Youtube while recovering from her hip surgery.
Her practice is always evolving. Currently 90% of her clients get work done on the mat. She has a handful that don’t want to work on the floor and want the old school slide and glide and some that she does more table thai style due to an inability to get on and off the floor. She calls her work movement based massage. She has had a hard time deciding what to call it. So that is also ever changing. She loves continuing education. If she could just be a student she would. The more you know, the better therapist you are. You do not have to just do one style or modality. Her clients come to her for pain the first few times and then it becomes a maintenance thing. Not that she pushes it but they discover how good they feel and want to see her regularly.
