Acts 27:25, NIVSo keep up your courage, men, for I have faith in God that it will happen just as he told me.In Acts 27, the apostle Paul was a prisoner on a boat headed to Rome where he was to stand trial before Caesar when a huge storm arose with hurricane-force winds. After fourteen days, the crew gave up all hope of surviving. But in the midst of this storm, an angel appeared to Paul and promised him that he would make it to Rome and the crew would survive. Sometimes what God promises looks just the opposite of what we see. When that happens, do as Paul did and mix your faith with God's promises. When Paul declared they would be saved, he was speaking life in the face of death, victory in the midst of defeat. What you're saying in the storm has a great impact on whether or not you get out. Get in agreement with God and declare, "No storm can stop what God has purposed. What God said will come to pass. I will get well. I will prosper and succeed. My children will serve the Lord."Father, thank You that You have a calling and a purpose for my life to fulfill just as You did the apostle Paul. When I find myself in a stormy place, help me use Your words of promise to declare victory. I believe that as I speak words of faith, I will see You release Your promises in my life.
