Pergamos was a notable city in Asia, famous for its grand temples, including one to Zeus, and a large library. It was a center of Emperor worship and paganism, earning the title "seat of Satan." Despite this, faithful Christians like Antipas stood firm. Jesus rebuked the church for allowing the compromising doctrine of Balaam and urged them to separate from such influences, calling them to remain dedicated to God.
