Listen "Reflections on the media: Matt Peacock and Nick Franklin in discussion"
Episode Synopsis
Veteran news and current affairs reporters Matt Peacock and Nick Franklin discuss media - using the new series on ABC “The Newsreader” as a starting point to talk about television – the highs and the lows – particularly the ABCs Four Corners, which celebrated its 60th year of continuous broadcast in August this year, and is under sustained attack from the Murdoch media. This is followed by a discussion on the uniqueness of radio and why we need it, Murdoch’s political influence, the kind of news and views expressed on Sky After Dark, the coming federal election and its likely coverage by the media.
