Not all pregnancy announcements feel like good news. They can bring a whole range of emotions. In the second week of Advent Zane Elliott opens Luke 1:26-38, and the announcement of a pregnancy which causes us to ask 'What child is this?' As we walk through the passage and come to grips with the Angel Gabriel's announcement to Mary we'll spend some time with i) the expectant mother vv.26-30 before we consider the ii) unexpected child vv.31-33 and finally iii)a surprising response vv.34-38 to this unexpected news.
