Listen "Making Events more sustainable - Sustain Talks with Event Cycle"

Episode Synopsis

In this weeks Sustain Talks I’m delighted to be joined by Carina & Chantal from Event Cycle, a company that takes unwanted event waste and gives it a second life by repurposing and redistributing items left over from events. This is the circular economy at its best and a huge benefit to the events industry on its mission to become more sustainable.

We discuss how event cycle help organisers and exhibitors manage their waste and make sure it goes to a good home. Any kind of materials can be repurposed, from a sofa to a pallet of wood to stationery, textiles, graphics, art supplies, hard hats the list goes on.

They can repurpose anything and ensure it goes to a good home not too far from the venue to reduce emissions from pointless journeys.

We also discuss the challenges that the events industry face, what they can do to become more sustainable and where they could start. Event Cycle share who benefits from repurposing materials from the events industry and how an event can be socially responsible.

A must-listen for those involved in the events industry in any form.
