Natalee Johnston grew up on a farm in the WA wheatbelt. From a young age she was taught the importance of working hard and how to be independent. This was definitely needed as she became the Royal Australian Navy’s first female pilot, and the only one for 8 years, and continued to fly and mentor those following her for her 24 years of service.  Natalee always tested the boundaries and stood her ground against those who believed she was unable to succeed. She had to prove her worth to herself first before being confident to silence her critics.
