Listen "On graduating into entrepreneurship and bypassing the traditional job market with Diamond Ward"
Episode Synopsis
What’s it like to be a member of Gen Z: a recent grad or soon-to-be grad, entering the workforce at a (sorry) unprecedented time?
Everything we’ve been sold and promised since the days of the Baby Boomers is no longer applicable. The idea that if we work hard, get good grades, and get a degree— the ideal job will be waiting for us when we begin our careers is no longer a guarantee.
We were taught that getting a good job is the key to long-term stability and growth.
But that is no longer our reality. We’re finally beginning to realize these promises are outdated and empty.
Our guest today began her career in the early days of the pandemic when absolutely nothing was certain. She shares how this uncertainty shaped her perspective and her decision to go directly into self-employment, rather than spend her time competing for for lackluster jobs in the traditional market.
We explore what happens when you do “everything right”, and it still doesn’t turn out the way you planned.
