Episode Synopsis
In this episode Millie and Olivia chat to Georgia Houston.Georgia is the Director and an Accredited Practising Dietitian at Her Matters. As someone who struggled with an eating disorder in her late-teens, Georgia knows firsthand the important role health professionals play in recovery. That is why she became a dietitian; to help women re-establish a balanced relationship with food, an appreciation for their bodies and an understanding on how to fuel and nourish them.In her work as a dietitian, she has seen how a multidisciplinary approach to healthcare can improve patient outcomes, while creating a fulfilling, synergistic environment for health professionals too - and so she founded Her Matters. Her Matters is a collective of female allied health professionals who are passionate about creating a bold, supportive and inclusive space for women of all ages.Outside of work, Georgia love's listening to music (which is why you’ll always hear the best tunes at Her Matters), as well as going to pilates with her mum and playing with her Bernedoodle, Charlie. They discuss how Georgia’s lived experience informs her work, the importance of having a dietitian when you are in eating disorder recovery, navigating pregnancy after an eating disorder and what inspired her to start Her Matters.Follow Millie on Instagram here -@millietnz@healedrecoverycoachYou can also visit her website here -www.healed.net.auFollow Olivia on Instagram here - @uncovery.ed.coachingYou can also visit her website here -www.uncovery.com.auYou can email Millie at [email protected] and Olivia at [email protected] -Please note that although we have done our utmost to make RenourishED as inclusive as possible it’s important to remember that every individual’s eating disorder journey is unique.
