Listen "Ancestral Hearbeat"
Episode Synopsis
Send us a textThis ancestral series has all been the work of the ancestors. Starting with Honouring our ancestors, followed by Ancestral Messengers and last week Ancestral Influencers. Its popularity shows us that we must delve deeper in celebrating our ancestors. So, this week's episode is Ancestral Heartbeat in which we will be focusing on an integral, unshakeable and subconscious vibration that speaks to each and every one of us; the drum. The importance of drumming for our ancestors and ourselves should forever be central to our being, as it is part of our DNA and our guiding light for us to always find our way home. There is a vast array of drums throughout the continent so we are only going to focus on 5 in this episode. I offer a short introduction on each of the 5 drums followed by the works of master drummers, accompanied by wise words and high vibrations. As with all of the works featured within this episode, they are all credited in the description of this episode and used only for the education of people of the diaspora. So please continue gaining further wisdom of these works and the people featured, after listening. Give thanks to all featured within this episode.AccreditationsDevon Russell - Drum SongThe Ritual of African DrummingYoutube Channel : Roosevelt Sheltonhttps://www.alpharhythmroots.com/post/the-origin-and-transformation-of-the-djembe-drum-the-short-storyhttps://drumdr.com/djembe-history.htmlhttps://africanvibes.com/8-traditional-african-music-instruments-and-their-origin/https://sites.google.com/site/lauxinafrica/the-music-of-senegal/instruments-sabarhttp://www.cirquedusabar.com/history.htmlhttps://drummuseum.com/Africa/sabar-drum-senegal.htmlhttps://sites.google.com/site/worldhanddrums1/bougaraboushttps://www.x8drums.com/blog/bougarabou-drums/https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talking_drumhttps://www.softschools.com/facts/music_instruments/talking_drum_facts/3013/https://www.newhamheritagemonth.org/wp-content/uploads/SWV_Resource_Pack_talkingdrum.pdfhttps://www.archaicroots.com/education/voices-of-the-ancestors-the-clay-udu-drum/Djembe Solo by Weedie BraimahYoutube Channel : CongaheadIboo Faye griot joue un solo au sabar Tiol "Tokhogue"Youtube Channel : Flo AmaBacary Diedhiou Bougarabou Master SenegalYoutube Channel : Joseph NkosiAyan Bisi Adeleke - Master talking drummer - drum talks Youtube Channel : edEludThe Art of Udu Ceramic DrumYoutube Channel : Joe AguJoe Agu , Marquinho and Hugh HumphreyDrumming and Your Brain: Magic and Science / Cornell Coley / TedxJamaicaPlainYoutube Channel : Tedx TalksCount Ossie - Ethiopian SerenadePlease subscribe if you feel the vibe and connect with Danieal via www.danieal.co.ukDisclaimer : Reggae Uprising Podcast does not own any of the rights to any of the music or extracts featured.
