There are three major genus that are found in the hobby and many species for each genus. An interesting thing we have noticed is that these coral are often considered a beginner coral due to their forgiving nature and avoided by many beginner reefers that are moving up to the next level of knowledge. However, leathers often make a re-appearance in well-developed advanced reef tanks. A huge toadstool in a large reef tank can really add to the balance of the system with visually impactful counterbalance and make the display more accessible to a larger audience for appreciation.
