Bible Text: 1 Corinthians 7:25-40

This week we come to the last section on Paul's discussion of sex, marriage and singleness. His focus is on singleness and the advantages of it. This might seem an odd thing, given that marriage was created by God and is used as a picture of Christ union with the church, but says that marriage brings with it particular burdens, whereas singleness gives you freedom to be devoted to the Lord. This may still seem odd to us, but it's an important part of understanding what it means to live for Jesus.
