Listen "Matthew 5:38-48 – Love Your Enemies"
Episode Synopsis
Revenge. An eye for an eye. Consequences for actions. This Sunday we will continue our series, The Upside-Down Kingdom, with Matthew 5:38-48. The Sermon on the Mount is Jesus’ announcement of the in-breaking of the Kingdom of Heaven. Jesus has already challenged us on anger, lust, infidelity, and truthfulness. In our text this week, Jesus challenges our perspective on personal justice and how we treat those who despise us. We can hear the words, “love your enemies,” and give them a casual nod, or say something like, “we’re called to love but not to like people,” but when we take the calling of Jesus Christ seriously, this might be the most difficult applications of the gospel to our lives. Go read Matthew 5:38-48 before Sunday. Note the response in your own heart and how quickly you might start minimizing or explaining away the actual calling we have.------------------------------------------- Connect with us on Social Media Website | Instagram | Threads | Facebook | Vimeo------------------------------------------- Download our AppApple App Store | Google Play Store
