When we left off, Esther had decided that God had put her in the position she held, Queen over the empire, “for such a time as this.” She took a tremendous risk to approach the King without having been called and had the opportunity to host the King and Haman for a banquet. She showed wisdom in inviting the pair to a second banquet the following day. The entire story and trajectory changed overnight. Literally. The King couldn’t sleep and his restless night led him to a complete change of heart and perspective, without even realizing all of the pieces at play in the grand drama that was unfolding in Susa. 

In the darkest moments, when things are most bleak, and we are wrecked with the question of whether God sees, knows, or hears our prayers as we cry out to Him, what is it that we can cling to?
