You were born into a warzone, and you have lived every moment of every day in that war. When you are not saved, the war is to keep you from Jesus. After you become saved, the war is to keep you ineffective for Jesus. This war, is a spiritual war for the souls of men. The grace of God is central to your fight and winning your war with sin. Romans 6 condemns the use of God's grace for the sin of license, and Romans 7 condemns the rejection of God's grace for the sin of legalism. The law of God has a purpose, but it is not to bring you salvation...it is to get you to Jesus.
