A weary world is uniquely positioned to hear the proclamation of Jesus. The birth of Jesus is the second most significant event in human history, only superseded by the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus. God steps into human history by adding humanity to His deity on a rescue mission for the souls of mankind…and we call this “Christmas”. The announcement of Jesus’s birth comes to an unsuspecting group of unnamed shepherds. Upon experiencing the supernatural revelation of angels and hearing their supernatural message and confirming that message to be true, these shepherds become the first preachers of the coming of Jesus. This good news of great joy has come, not only to them, but to you as well. God’s gift of eternal life given through the baby Jesus who would grow to be a man who sacrificed Himself to save your soul is cause for great joy. In fact, this is the only way we know what rejoicing truly is.
