Words are things we use every day, and we use a lot of them. Once they pass our lips and move out into the world, there is no taking them back, there is no rescinding or redacting what has been said even if we really wish we could. The human heart is flawed and broken as a result of sin and this sinful heart feeds our mouths with a steady flow of lies for various reasons. Whether we are attempting to avoid negative consequences, manipulate and control, alter the outcomes of things, or simply to be accepted...lies are far more prevalent than we might think. Jesus brings hope to our lives by His supernatural power to do more than put a reign on our tongue, He is capable of transforming the source of our mouth...our hearts.
