Listen "Healing the Broken"
Episode Synopsis
In scripture, God describes what the world is supposed to look like, but our current state is far from the described perfection. How are we, as Christians, to view the brokenness in the world and how should we then act? Senior Pastor Craig Bailey at Redeemer Presbyterian Church, in Charleston, SC, answers these question through his exposition on Acts 3:1-10.
First, we are to be prepared to give hope. This requires Gospel centered lives. I Peter reminds us "to always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you" (ESV). Second, God's people must look at brokenness. Brokenness does not just look like a lame beggar. Brokenness can also play out in emotional, social, spiritual, economic, and other ways as well. Third, we must call the broken to look at us. Christians are a testament to the healing power of Christ. Who better for someone who is broken and longing for healing to look at than you?
