Listen "Understanding Self-Righteousness: Nobody Can Hurt You on Your High Horse"
Episode Synopsis
Today’s episode is about self-righteousness and other behaviors that are born early on in our lives as defense mechanisms. I discuss how self-righteousness can be cautiously used as a confidence builder in public speaking situations, but must be abandoned immediately following. These learned behaviors exist for a reason. Notice them. Admit to them. Laugh about them, if need be. But don't ignore them.
Step 10 in my sobriety program is helpful for honest self-reflection. By understanding and addressing our hidden motives, we can move towards greater self-awareness and personal growth. Join me for insights on unmasking self-righteousness and embracing our yucky stuff.
