Listen "The Heart and Mind Connection: I Don’t Have to Do This Alone"

Episode Synopsis

Public speaking, work stress, life decisions…before sobriety I measured my success by whether I could push through without help. I saw every challenge as a question of whether I could handle it alone. But in sobriety, stroke recovery, and vestibular recovery, I’ve learned that courage is doing it regardless of the fear and holding someone’s hand if I need to. Surrendering is simply admitting, “I can’t do this on my own.” When I think I have all the answers, my mental health is at risk and I start isolating. When I let go of thinking I have all the answers, I stop analyzing every problem and start listening. I become a student of other people’s experience, strength, and hope. I see how my heart and mind are connected. When I’m excited about something, like a new artsy project, my mental well-being lifts. The most important parts of me can’t be seen, but they shape everything I do. Emotional sobriety is healing the dark place inside me that nobody can see. When I reach the point where life feels unmanageable, whether in sobriety or stroke and vestibular recovery, the answer is always the same: surrender and ask for help. I don’t have to do anything alone.Listen and subscribe wherever you get your podcasts and YouTube. Visit my Etsy shop, Recovery Upcycling. https://www.etsy.com/shop/RecoveryUpcyclingVisit me at recoverydailypodcast.com or email me at [email protected].For more information about vestibular disorders, visit https://vestibular.org.#RecoveryJourney #SurrenderToWin #HealingFromWithin #EmotionalSobriety #StrokeRecovery #VestibularWarrior #MentalHealthMatters #CourageOverFear #YouAreNotAlone #OneDayAtATime
