Listen "Stop Saying I’m Fine: Stage 1 of the Acceptance Framework"
Episode Synopsis
Saying “I’m fine” can be an automatic response when you live with disability and chronic pain. It can, however, symbolize denial, showing up through humor, constant busyness, or focusing on other people’s needs. The result may be delayed medical care, increased strain on relationships, and a gradual buildup of fear and stress that drains energy over time.To break that pattern, start by recognizing signs that you’re masking discomfort. Perform a brief head-to-toe body scan to locate hidden tension, then write the prompt “Actually, ___” and fill in how you really feel. Identify one area of life you routinely label “fine” but quietly question, and use that insight to guide your next action, whether it’s scheduling treatment, asking for help, or simply resting.Listen and subscribe wherever you get your podcasts and YouTube.
