How To Practice Being Alone

Listen "How To Practice Being Alone"

Episode Synopsis

Our most important dialogues happen internally—sometimes these are the most destructive as well. How do we practice being alone to get comfortable listening to this inner dialogue. Can we meet the need for connection and fend off loneliness even when we are alone?
Rachel shares her experience with crawling her way out of a lonely state of mind and introducing ways to begin letting go of her fears of being alone with her thoughts.
As an active alcoholic, Rachel loved hanging out with the drunk version of herself but found every way possible to escape from hanging out with the sober version. It has taken lots of practice, self-care, listening through self-reflection, and "letting it all out" to finally feel like dancing when nobody's around (except the pooches, of course.)
Shout out to JRE Clips for the great analogy of our thoughts backing up like emails in an email inbox. Love it!
