Listen "Deuteronomy Chapters 13 - 14:2, Episode 187"
Episode Synopsis
In this episode Moses reminds God’s people that they are not to tolerate anyone who tries to lead them into worshiping idols and other gods. They were told that they had to completely destroy anyone or any place that would lead them into idolatry. The lesson I see for us is that we have to guard ourselves from anyone who will try to distract us from our commitment to God. We must be careful of who we listen to. Once we realize that someone, or going some places, causes us to compromise our relationship with God…we must cut that thing off: or cut that person off. Don’t go around them. Love them from a distance if it’s a relative. Also let’s remember that an idol for us can be anything we consider more important than God. The children of Israel were told to kill the person or destroy the place that would lead them into idolatry. We don’t literally kill anyone. The way we kill it, is to separate ourselves from the person or the place that negatively affect our commitment and our relationship with God. #canaan #moses #deuteronomy #idols#christian #biblestudy #oldtestament @readingthroughthebiblewith3242
