Papua New Guinea's cabinet has approved a landmark defence treaty with Australia, after the two countries failed to sign the agreement last month.Known as the Pukpuk treaty, the pact will see the two countries agree to defend each other in the event of a military attack.Following the development, Deputy Prime Minister Richard Marles says he is confident the currently unsigned $500 million Australia-Vanuatu Nakamal agreement can be locked in.
