Episode Synopsis "EP 0: cringe introductions and master narratives "
Sometimes as members of a capitalistic, colonialist sensationalist society we can easily feel pressured to follow common narratives ( e.g., going to college right after high school). When the reality is that we are unique individuals that may deviate from those "master narratives" imposed by societal standards. Deviating from the norm can be a feat, but the challenge may also come from the stressors from conforming, concealing, and code-switching. Most importantly, there are systematic barriers that can deter individuals from the achieving and discovering their authentic selves as well as heal from the traumas from imposed narratives and norms. This episode is a rough introduction of what I, as a life-long and continuing learner of human inter- and intra-actions and healing injustices/social injustices in our capitalistic society, want to intervene throughout this podcast. It was also a favorite topic of mine in college in "Narrative Identity". '
