Technology will not always be your friend and cooperate when you’re recording. Be sure you always have a backup plan in place. If you’re remotely interviewing a guest and they can’t access the software in your meeting invitation, be sure you have a backup tool available to deploy on-demand. If you record episodes with a co-host, you can do what we do here, and record from each of our locations. This means we always have two master recordings, saved on two different computers. If something were to happen to one, we always have a fallback. This saves us valuable time on needing to re-record episodes. As well as saving us from losing any of those unscripted moments that can’t be replicated.
