Seven or so years ago, I was surprised by God’s overwhelming presence as I read the story of his coming to his people on Mt Sinai to enter into a covenant with them. As he prepared to give them the ten commandments, the people trembled before him. His power was on full display. When I finished reading the story, I sat in stunned silence and then, after a pregnant pause, I wrote a song encouraging God’s people to fear him and obey. I share that song with you in this episode.
FEAR THE LORD
Verse 1:
Morning breaks, the Lord is coming,
The heart of every man begins to quake.
Prepared and watching, the people wait,
To hear the voice of the Holy One, their God.
