What’s important in life? This question came up during a conversation with a friend, and here is his response: 1. Peace and quiet. 2. Food, good food. 3. Friends and Family. I totally agree with these priorities, and I believe they align closely with the values of Hobbits. Thus, I can confidently say that I am a Hobbit. To illustrate this, I turn to a quote from Bilbo Baggins: “It has been remarked by some that Hobbits' only real passion is for food. A rather unfair observation as we have also developed a keen interest in the brewing of ales and the smoking of pipe weed. But where our hearts truly lie is in peace and quiet and good tilled earth. For all Hobbits share a love of all things that grow. And yes, no doubt to others, our ways seem quaint.
