He has decided to have season ending elbow surgery next week. Pitching prospect Cole Hamels is also out for the season. Hamels had been experiencing back problems over the past few weeks. Cole will sit out the rest of the year and look to continue his career next season starting in AAA Wilkes Barre/Scranton. Rumours around Philly say Ed Wade will fill the GM spot for the club untill 2007. We'll offer our comments regarding this situation.
