Falsehood has plagued the Pentecostal church because of building foundations on lies and deception. A lie is anything inconsistent or incompatible with the Word of God.
Jonah 2:8 They that observe lying vanities forsake their own mercy.
God's mercy is never made available to anyone who walks in deception; every Spiritual activity we do based on lies, we forsake our mercy. There is mercy only for those who walk in the truth.
The reason we Pray and fast is to avail ourselves so that God may shine His light into our hearts so that we may confront these lies that we believed.
Proverbs 28:13 People who conceal their sins will not prosper, but if they confess and turn from them, they will receive mercy.
Any lie you believe is a liability to your life but if you love God, get rid of falsehood. The devil's currency is deception.
What have you borrowed from the world yet you know it is not consistent with God's Word? We must be honest with ourselves and allow God to deal with these lies if we are to move to the next level of our lives.
The devil is not that strong, he would have killed you already but he uses lies to afflict your life. Our power, authority, and strength is embedded in the life of obedience to the Word of God and individual instruction the Holy Spirit gives us which is truth Jonah 2:8
Isaiah 66:2 ... but to this [man] will I look, [even] to [him that is] poor and of a contrite spirit, and trembleth at my word.
When you are poor in the spirit it means you can't take a step before you hear God correctly. Most of the times we have been missing it because we are deaf and believing the lies of the enemy.
Hebrews 4:12 (AMPC) For the Word that God speaks is alive and full of power [making it active, operative, energizing, and effective]; it is sharper than any two-edged sword, penetrating to the dividing line of the breath of life (soul) and [the immortal] spirit, and of joints and marrow [of the deepest parts of our nature], exposing and sifting and analyzing and judging the very thoughts and purposes of the heart.
God comes to expose you to you through the Word. The Word of God is truth and must be the final authority in your life because we are accountable to it John 6:63
There is a cleansing and deliverance that comes by God's Word; He shines His light to help us flash out every falsehood that we have believed Ephesians 5:26
Mark 9:24 Immediately the father of the child cried out and said with tears, "Lord, I believe; help my unbelief!"
Never defend your errors but break and cry to God to save you when He reveals it to you.
The father of this child got to a point of admission of his unbelief and so Jesus bypassed his unbelief and healed his son. This was a show of mercy. If you admit your deficiencies God can bypass them and meet your needs.
The reason David won God's heart is that he leaned on the truth. He never reasoned with God at any time.
David was a king and warrior who fought 66 battles and he won them all but when Nathan, a little prophet told him about his sin, he broke and bowed down and asked for mercy. This is the same attitude we should carry.
Remember it is your heart that qualifies you, there is no need for pretense, ask the Lord to strip every falsehood that has plagued your life in these 21 days of fasting.
