Throughout her life Ja-Nae has focused on one mission; make life better for as many people as possible. This began at a young girl at 13 when she helped to turn her city around through her talent of public speaking and was awarded with the key to the city. This has carried in through the five different organizations she has founded or co-founded, including Wild Women Entrepreneurs, The Leaders, the National Artistic Effort, and the Massachusetts Artist Leaders Coalition.
She currently leads the Revolution Institute and works as a social science researcher while also teaching at Emerson College and Northeastern University. At Clark University, she holds the position of Entrepreneur-in-Residence.
The author of “How to Start Your Business with $100” and “The Startup Equation” Ja-Naé excels at advising startups because she understands from personal experience what it means to be an social entrepreneur. Over the years, her work has caught the attention of The Associated Press, NPR, Classical Singer Magazine, The Boston Globe, and Business Week. In 2007, she was nominated as one of New England’s Most Innovative Leaders of 2007

Ja-Naé shares 3 exclusive tips that she coaches clients on in regards to starting up a business with very little capital. These are some of the strategies she used when she founded the Wild Women Entrepreneurs with $100.
Remember: Money is not the only resource Everything in our lives is a potential resource. Ask yourself, what skills and abilities can I “barter” with others if I don’t have the money?
Always make sure you get paid! “If you’re not sustainable then you have no business
3. Listen to others- we have a tendency to oversell ourselves. The goal is to sell solutions to customers. Ja-Naé shares something her grandma used to always say; You have two ears and one mouth, use them accordingly.
4. . Know your hourly rate! Time is a resource, don't under sell yourself.
