Episode Synopsis

LA TECHNIQUESType of LA tq depends on the bone(maxillary/mandibular) to be anesthetizedType of agent depends on the chemical component of LA solutionDuration of action of Surface Anesthesia – 30 seconds          o Best agent – BenzocaineInfiltration          o Most common tq in pedo          o It’s a supraperiosteal tqNerve block          o Indicated in Infective Endocarditis (to avoid bleeding around gums)          o Contra indicated in haemophilia          o Only nerve block in pedo is IANBIntra ligamentary          o Contra indicated in Infective E ndocarditis (avoid)          o Indicated in heamophilia (prefer)          o On pulpal circulation          o Mainly given for extraction          o Less effective for RCT / LONG pulpal procedure          o Can be used only for short pulpal / DPC, 5 min thermocresol pulpotomyPAINLESS L A TECHNIQUE1. Slow infusion – best ( Incisors, C and PMs)2. Surface anesthesia3. 27 gauge needle(instead of 25) – causes severe pain    a. ∴ leastest effective4. Stretch the muscle – least effective5. location – incisive papilla , Nerve – nasopalatine in max anteriors6. incisive nerve supplies Mand.1. QN – After IANB, pain persist at lower Ci while extraction, give infiltration at CI,because is cross innervation from other side2. QN – after IANB, pain persist at 1st Molar due to mylohyoid nerve innervation3. QN- Anterior palatine NB (new) ➝ anesthetics the nerves same as in greaterpalatine NB
