While the entire world has been upended by the coronavirus pandemic, most of us are understandably focused on the devastating impact the virus has had on the United States. Drawing on her extensive anthropological research into poverty, disease, and everyday life and the deep relationships she has with some families living in Santiago, Dr. Han gives us a detailed look into how households and communities in Santiago are dealing with the social and economic effects of Covid-19 .
